Established in 2004, Cathedral provides strategic and financial consulting services to privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations. In late 2015, the firm suffered a tremendous loss when its co-founder and CEO, Phil Clements, tragically died in a small plane accident.
“Phil’s vision for how Cathedral will serve businesses and nonprofits is remarkably well-defined,” said CEO, Seth Buechley. “For years, I had the privilege of working with Phil and the Cathedral team personally as I grew and eventually sold my business. Phil’s motto was ‘In God’s world, business done right is a blessing’ and that motto continues to guide the work we do with our clients.”
“It’s been remarkable to see how this leadership change unfolded,” said Mark Thorne, a partner and Managing Director of Cathedral. “We spent several months working closely with Phil’s family to ensure a smooth transition that builds on the unique offerings Cathedral is known for while at the same time significantly expanding our capacity for growth.”
Buechley brings broad experience to Cathedral having served as an executive and board member in public, private, and nonprofit organizations across a variety of industries. His recently published book Ambition: Leading with Gratitude highlights the critical need and benefits of gratitude in the lives of driven leaders. His most recent company, SOLiD USA, grew to nearly $60 million before it was sold in 2016.
